DOWNHILL - CROSS-COUNTRY - BACK-COUNTRY
Located in the heart of Southern Vermont ski country, the Vermont Mountain House is a short distance to Bromley Mt. (3.5 miles), Magic Mt. (8 miles), Stratton Mt. (16 miles), and Okemo Mt. (21 miles).
Cross Country and Backcountry skiing opportunities abound. Nearby cross country ski centers include:

For the more adventurous and experienced, the house is stocked with books and maps on local routes. Nearby touring trails include the Catamount Ski Trail, which you can access directly from the house through the forest.

The house is close to some of the most spectacular hikes in the Green Mountains. There are dozens of nearby hiking opportunities and mountain biking opportunities of varying lengths, technical ability and scenery, including the famed Vermont Long Trail, Lowell Lake, Bromley, Stratton, and Mount Equinox.
